On Friday 29 July the ASU and your delegates held further discussions with NHC about your EBA.
At this meeting we requested a response from NHC to the detailed claims that the ASU had provided at the previous meeting.
Whilst we are still significantly apart on some issues there were some constructive discussions around some of the provisions we put forward, including;
- Dispute settlement provisions,
- Union rights,
- Redundancy processes, and a variety of other matters.
Still some way to go.
Whilst there is still a considerable way to go we believe the negotiations have taken a small step in the right direction.
The ASU has offered to work with NHC’s lawyers to draft some clauses that both parties could be comfortable with. We are waiting on a response.
Where to next
The ASU will continue to negotiate to get the best possible outcome for you that we can. You can assist us by ensuring that you are a member of the Union and also encouraging your workmates to join if they haven’t done so yet.
The ASU will be on site several times over the next 2 weeks to talk to members about our progress to date starting with Thursday 4 August 2016. We will be in your building between 12pm – 1.30pm and again between 6.30 – 7.30pm. Please come by during your breaks.
