Recently the Victorian Off Course Agency Association approached the ASU to commence discussions regarding introducing an Enterprise Agreement (EA) to staff. An EA is a document that contains all your legally binding pay and conditions at work.
How this came about
Last year VOCAA made an application to make your old Enterprise Award a new Modern Award. The application was not successful and as such there is uncertainty about which Award now covers you. The ASU is of the position that the Clerks Private Sector Award covers the work that you do. VOCAA currently feel as though the Retail Award applies.
VOCAA is interested in formalising the terms and conditions of Agency staff and removing uncertainty as is the ASU. A collective agreement is one way, and a good way to achieve certainty about your wages and conditions.
The role of the Australian Services Union (ASU)
The ASU negotiates wages and conditions on behalf of members within a particular workplace. For TAB Off Course Agency staff this means negotiating for a number of employees across multiple sites and employers.
Our job is to represent your interests and as such we need your input and feedback regarding what terms and conditions you want at work.
VOCAA has already put a proposed working document forward but to really assess this we need you to let us know directly what you want.
Fill in the attached survey and return to the ASU on any of the details listed below.
