As the Call Centre Union, the ASU will always fight for the rights of call centre.
Infrastructure builder, Transurban announced that its key call centre contractor, Salmat, will be offshoring all of its Australian call centre jobs to Manila. We need your help to fight this!
Multi-billion dollar companies, such as Salmat, take Australian jobs and offshore them. The end product is that every day Australians are affected by increasing unemployment and substandard service, all caused by the companies they put their trust in.
And it’s not just a problem at Salmat. As a private sector company that stands to make millions from infrastructure projects And tax payer funded toll roads, Transurban have a responsibility to ensure that they reinvest in local jobs for local workers.
The ASU will fight hard to keep these companies accountable but we need your help to say enough is enough!
Help us fight offshoring of call centre jobs and help us keep the pressure on Transurban to secure Australian call centre jobs.
How can you help?

Our petition to federal and state governments, Transurban and Salmat:
The call centre industry is a major employer in Australia and an integral part of our nation’s economy. All call centre workers should enjoy the same, high level of working conditions and all workers should be valued and paid fairly.
We need Australian companies and the Australian and state governments commit to keeping call centre jobs on shore and making sure unfair work practices are eliminated.
