ASU members at Myer Distribution Centre in Altona have finalised their new EBA this week.
Members were very keen to ensure that the many gains they had fought hard for over the years were not eroded and stripped away by Myer management in these negotiations.
Many of these conditions were hard won by the members at the site in the long running and hard fought industrial disputes of 1996 and 2003.
The good news is that a new a deal has been reached which, over its three years, will deliver wage increases and certainty with the continuation of all current terms and conditions of employment.
ASU Assistant Secretary David Leydon said: “This is a very good outcome for ASU members at the site and shows what can be achieved by Union members being strong and united in their dealings with management”.
