As you’re aware, Virgin have recently announced proposed changes to the part-time roster at Melbourne Airport and are currently undertaking a review. Your ASU representatives met with the company on Monday in order to address the many questions and concerns raised by members. Unfortunately the company were unable to provide a response or further information to many of the issues raised.
We have raised a series of concerns with the company, including:
- Impact on AM/PM shift preference
- Impact on day off patterns
- Impact on pre-approved leave
- Impact on shift times and earning capacity
The company have undertaken to honour previously approved leave and work with staff should their day off patterns be effected in future. Other than that, little information on the proposed roster has been provided.
Our next meeting is scheduled for this Friday, 22 July, and we’re told our questions will be addressed during this meeting. We will update members as soon as this information is available. As always, keep an eye out for future bulletins or stay up to date via our Facebook page www.facebook.com/ASUVirgin
If you have any questions or concerns you would like to raise about the roster changes please continue to get in touch with your local ASU delegates, Sarah Hogan and Roxanne Martinez, or ASU organiser Imogen on isturni@asupsvic.org
