Whilst we understand that the move to T4 is imminent the ASU and your representatives are still liaising with both Jetstar and Qantas in the hope that a sensible outcome can be arrived at in relation to the staff bus and parking arrangements once Jetstar relocate to T4.
This work is ongoing and we ask that while these efforts continue that you all continue to stick together.
Our continued view is that you should not nominate a particular option at this stage and stick with the current arrangements of the Qantas bus and drop off at terminal one. We recognise that this will add additional time to your travelling time however we believe that the safety issues associated with utilising the public car park on the public shuttle busses far outweigh this imposition.
We will continue to pursue Jetstar to recognise this fact and come up with a sensible arrangement. No-one should feel pressured to select a particular option at this stage.
If any staff member is late for work during this transition and prior to a solution being agreed and are asked to attend a meeting with management, we recommend that you enforce your right to have a representative from the Union present. Do not continue with any meeting until you have contacted the union.
The ASU will vigorously defend any individual placed in this situation due to Jetstar’s lack of empathy and proper regard for your safety
Our aim is still to try and negotiate a better option than the ones currently on offer. The company will obviously hold out as long as it can so it’s important to show them that you’re serious about your safety and wellbeing and stick together.
As always if you have concerns or questions please contact your local ASU Delegates or your ASU Organiser Kristy McNicol on 0404 167 884.
