For the past two months the ASU and CPSU have been actively negotiating with SERCO for a fair new enterprise agreement.
As you all know, the Unions had to drag SERCO to the negotiating table after they restructured operations, delayed bargaining and changed the job descriptions of many employees leading to job losses and pay cuts just weeks before Christmas.
Now, SERCO has refused all the major claims from the Unions to date, including: job descriptions in the agreement, a consultative committees to discuss KPIS and rostering, increased redundancies for employees who had worked at SERCO for 10 years or more, protections to ensure employees always receive their rosters a month in advance, and on top of that, they have scrapped the bonus and are yet to propose a pay increase.
When asked what SERCO brought to the table for hard working employees, Serco has simply stated “security”. The only security is that SERCO would have the security to cut your pay and your job and your hours of work
Enough is enough.
Union members need to stand up and show SERCO that they can’t use the threat of Coronavirus to try and push through a dodgy 4 year agreement with weakened conditions for employees. The CPSU and ASU are asking Union members to sign this letter to the Hon. Lisa Neville, Minister for Police and Emergency Services, asking her support for a fair go at SERCO.
Serco receives millions in tax payers dollars in lucrative contracts such as Traffic Camera Services, its time SERCO listened to its employees and provided them with the job security they all deserve.
