Labor will implement paid domestic violence leave, if elected.

16/03/2022

The ASU warmly welcomes federal Labor’s announcement that, if elected, every worker will have access to a minimum of 10 days paid domestic violence.

ASU members have led the campaign for a minimum of 10 days paid family and domestic violence leave.

Paid family and domestic violence leave can give a woman – and it nearly always is a woman – the time, support and job security she needs to escape and recover from an abusive relationship.

Family and domestic violence is a national crisis. One woman a week dies as a result.

Whichever government wins the next election must implement this lifesaving leave. Please join our call to ensure all parties commit to this lifesaving leave. We won’t wait, because women can’t wait.
